Do you still have fond memories of your time at Murray State and how proud you were to be a Sigma Chi? For many of us, those days were so important in our life as we made lasting friendships and developed social and communication skills that played such important roles as we transitioned into our careers. We hope to ensure that our pride in Sigma Chi continues and flourishes at Murray State as we assist in providing opportunities for our current and future actives and pledges of the Epsilon Tau Chapter.
Epsilon Tau Housing Corporation financial statements are available for your review on this website. The Housing Corporation has done an excellent job in establishing a sound accounting system with appropriate reporting, and with your help, we are currently establishing a more current and up-to-date data base of Sigma Chi alumni from Murray State. Our current debt and loans are $137,561 composed of a mortgage on the house of $127,405 and other short-term loans provided by brothers for the remainder. The operating budget of the Housing Corporation has a positive cash flow of $3,107 through the current year including mortgage payments and our current membership of actives is 60. Without the monthly rental payments to the Housing Corporation to cover the mortgage, the Chapter will be more self-sufficient and in an improved operating position.
The SIGMA CHI PROUD CAPITAL CAMPAIGN for our local chapter at Murray State includes the goal of first paying off our mortgage debt, making essential repairs, and then renovating our current Chapter House which is more than 24 years old. Click here to see the composition of our goal and the planned renovations to the house. Our overall goal of $350,000 is to ensure that the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Sigma Chi at Murray State will be competitive for many future years with the other fraternities and will be a source of pride for all of us.
